My Story

My journey started in 1995, when I became a resident manager of a 10 unit apartment building on Davis Island. This is when I began my informal painting career, participated with making minor repairs, and did some landscaping. I purchased my first 4-unit investment property in 2000 when I was pregnant with my second child, still working a job in outside sales, and also purchased my first home. What a busy time!

Along the way, my ex and I accumulated 6 multi-family properties and 4 single family houses, all under some sort of renovation, totaling 28 rental units that I managed. We focused on Tampa Heights, Riverside Heights, V.M. Ybor, and Southeast Seminole Heights. From the beginning, my heart was in the more historic areas of Tampa.

Because it seemed to be the right fit, I got licensed to sell real estate in 2003, and remember telling many potential investors (because those were the ONLY people looking in Tampa Heights and Ybor at that time!) about all of the projects that were coming and that would help to build the Urban Core.

With the market starting to crash in 2007 or thereabouts, I saw the writing on the wall and let my license lapse in 2008. I had taken off 9 months to be fully involved with the renovation of my 2-story Craftsman bungalow, acting as my own General Contractor and taking the entire home down to the studs, and couldn't see how I was going to be able to support my 2 children while staying in real estate.

Fast forward to 2013.... I caught the investment property bug again, AND had a great partner to help me this time around. This is when Tarry and I purchased our first rental home in V.M. Ybor, and then won the bid to purchase the FDOT relocated “Twins” on Columbus Drive from the city for a whopping $9500! Having always been a consultative salesperson, truly loving historic properties and historic neighborhoods, and wanting to be my own boss, I once again got licensed to sell real estate in early 2018, and I haven't looked back!

I know I am exactly where I am supposed to be, and doing what I am supposed to be doing. I am grateful to work my passion with restoring old homes, delighted that I have the opportunity to work side by side with my husband and partner, Tarry, all the while helping others to obtain their dreams through home ownership and investing in real estate. Life couldn't be better!

Why Ybor?

From the very first time I drove through V.M. Ybor, I fell in love with the general feel of the neighborhood... the historic fabric of the homes, the interesting and unique architecture, the great diversity of its residents, and the rich history dating back to the late 1800s.

In the Ybor area, you will find authentic neighborhoods where you really will get to know your neighbors, people say "hello" and talk with one another, and everyone watches out for everyone else. There is a real sense of community.

With so many projects and improvements currently in the works, it is such an exciting time to live and work in the Ybor area! There is no other place in Tampa that I would rather live.

Why a Rooster?

Besides being the unofficial bird of Ybor City, and having been born under the Chinese Zodiac sign of the Rooster, this bird has always greatly resonated with me. The Rooster represents a hardworking animal that's confident, determined, full of energy, and never gives up. That seems to describe me to a tee! This is what I bring to every project I take on, and is what I offer my customers in every transaction.
